As a joint research initiative between the University of Helsinki and Lappeenranta University of Technology, the Atmospheric Modelling Centre Lahti (AMC-Lahti) is dedicated to pioneering solutions for climate change and air pollution through cutting-edge atmospheric modelling and artificial intelligence.
AMC-Lahti investigates the impacts of climate change and air pollution on Earth’s water cycle, radiative balance, and urban air quality. Using advanced models and machine learning, the centre provides critical insights to help policymakers create sustainable, health-focused solutions.
Through national and international collaborations with scientists, institutions, and communities, AMC-Lahti is committed to driving innovative solutions for global environmental challenges in Finland and beyond.
We begin by conducting comprehensive research to understand the complexities of atmospheric science and climate change. Our team analyzes existing data and identifies key areas of focus.
Using advanced modelling techniques and machine learning, we develop innovative computational codes that simulate atmospheric processes and predict outcomes. This step is crucial for gaining insights into potential solutions.
We collaborate with stakeholders, including policymakers and communities, to implement our findings. This ensures that our research translates into actionable strategies for addressing climate challenges effectively.
